"t o g e t h e r p i e c e s"
may emancipation find us in our tethers.
may solace find us in our unrest.
may satisfaction find us in our longings.
may contentedness find us in our comparisons.
may hope find us in our sorrows.
may truth find us in our lies.
may healing find us in our scars.
may rescue find us in our desperation.
may water find us in our deserts.
may warmth find us in our winters.
may home find us in our roaming.
may forever find us in our temporaries.
“Green was the silence, wet was the light,
the month of June trembled like a butterfly.”
- Pablo Neruda
This past June, Jody & I had the honor & joy to photograph Meghan & Joey's wedding in the Appalachian mountains. We had no idea how much fun it would be.
The following day, the bride and groom invited us to a mountain top picnic where we took more portraits. After Meghan redressed in her white gown on the side of the mountain, we documented her foraging for flowers — something she does often. We finished the night with a picnic dinner they had cooked for us while Jody sang & played the guitar. We shared a bottle of wine and a bond of friendship, while the North Carolina fireflies began to flicker. Stay tuned for the rest of the wedding story coming soon!
Editing these dreamy photos has me itching for more gathered meals in the outdoors. So ready to leave tomorrow with Kyle, Jody, & the Allegretto family for a week's worth of camping along the Washington & Oregon coast.
