our dining nook transformation / before & after

ohhhh BABY i am excited to share this reveal!!!

this area of our house was one of the most appealing parts when we were thinking about buying. the full length windows on every wall won me overrrr.

here’s what it looked like before:

& here’s the after!

when i saw this rounded table from Lulu & Georgia i KNEW it was meant for this space—same with the Elan Byrd rug. they completed our dining nook even better than i imagined!

i went with the combo of chairs on one side + a bench on the other to keep things simple & i am so happy i went that route.

apart from wanting to change the style of the room, my main priority was getting a rug + table that filled out the space more. this transformation reminded me of how important it is to fill spaces properly! it makes ALL the difference. the table we had in here before was much too small & it totally shrunk the look of the room! same goes with the rug i was using. i swapped out our 5x7 rug to this 8 x 10!

the rug perfectly breaks up the wooden table from the wood floors too! i love the texture of the rug mixed with the gorgeous warm table woodgrain.

i was a bit nervous putting a rug i adored under our table (cue 1 year old raspberry stains) but it’s held up amazingly well! foster has already dropped berries, pasta, & even peed on the rug hahaha. & we’ve been able to get out every stain PERFECTLY by spot treating by dabbing with a wet washcloth + using our tried & true green machine cleaner! (which happens to be on sale right now)

in order to pull the living room + dining nook together, i choose a paper light to match the giant one in the living room! this simple white fixture from amazon worked perfectly for the shade.
