my monthly faves: december edition

happyyyyy january! i’m taking the month off insta as i usually do, but i couldn’t skip sharing some things i loved in december. add to the list: cozy DIY girls nights, christmas eve candlelight service, a slow christmas morning, & plenty of gooood food :)

1 / ribbed checkered beanie

i won this hat at a christmas party, & have worn it nonstop since then! so cozy, just the right weight, & a goooood deal.

2 / Huge enamel stockpot

i recently snagged this large stockpot at target & then realized it’s truly the perfect pot to have on hand for the winter! i made a huge batch of chicken & rice soup to freeze a few weeks ago (recipe in my ‘recipes 2’ insta highlight!), & have been dropping it on friends’ doorsteps as sickness has made its rounddsssss this season. it’s the perfect pot to make a giant batch of bone broth too.

3 / hunt gather parent book

kyle & i read this book together & it has absolutely changed my life (& his). it validated so many instinctual feelings i had about parenting & approaches parenting from a global perspective instead of a solely western/american viewpoint. i hiiiighly recommend reading it at the same time as your partner so you can process together!

4 / merit makeup

i’ve heard raving reviews about merit beauty products for a few years now, but i finally bit the bullet & i am SO glad i did. i LOVE how simple their makeup products are! the five minute morning is perfect; looks like you spent hours doing your makeup, but it’s actually just a few super well-made products in the perfect tints. if you get one thing, get the minimalist stick. it goes on/blends in BEAUTIFULLY. & you get their adorable corduroy makeup bag with your first order.

5 / stroller mittens

omg. i get stopped about these mittens every. single. time. i use them on a walk with Foster 😂 so obviously i had to share with my online pals too! i love the boucle fabric & they keep your hands sooo warm. i just leave them on our stroller all through winter so that i don’t have to track down gloves for every walk.

6 / maternity overalls

i don’t buy many pregnancy-specific clothing items, mostly because oversized is my vibe anyway, but i have liveddd in these overalls for both of my pregnancies now.

7 / magnolia - THE STORY OF HOME show

i’ve been straight binging the magnolia network recently. The Story of Home features two of my fave interior designers (Jersey Ice Cream Co) as they renovate their home themselves, from start to finish. you can watch it on discovery+; it’s $4.99/month, & so worth it in my opinion, especially if you like having a show on in the background while you work or cook!

8 / retro mini fridge

this was a boujie purchase but i don’t regret it, baby. i got it for our home gym to put cold eucalyptus towels in for a post-workout cooldown. some people on insta also mentioned putting it near their bed for breastmilk storage postpartum, so i definitely plan to do that for all those late night haakas 🐄 #IYKYK

9 / workout towels

here are the towels i added to my gym mini fridge! soak them in water, add a few drops of essential oils (i’ve been doing eucalyptus, lavender & bergamot), wring them out, & roll them up!

10 / toddler checkered jacket

how freaking cute is this checkered jacket?! keeps Fostie real warm (& there’s a matching adult version too if you’re into twinning with your kiddos).
